Dan Rather once said, “Courage is being afraid, but going on
anyhow.” In life, we all are faced with circumstances that test the limits of
courage. In the Star Wars universe, these events occurred regularly, and many
times our favorite characters had to decide whether or not to be guided by
courage.
Lessons From A Galaxy Far, Far Away
"Life lessons" I have learn through my love of Star Wars
Even "Fools" Have A Purpose - Happy April Fools Day!
Obi-wan once said, "Who's the more foolish, the fool,
or the fool who follows him?" I am sure we could all think of someone we
feel fits into this category, but even "fools" have their place.
Vision for the Future
What were your dreams when you were young? What dreams do
you have for your children? Dreams are what define individuals and chart the
path for life, just as they did for one of the most central figures in the Star
Wars universe.
"You Want The Impossible" - Diligence, The Jedi Way
“Try not, do, or do not. There is no try.” When one thinks
of Star Wars, or it comes up in conversation, there are always specific
characters, scenes, or lines that seem to be recalled. This line from Yoda is
one of the most famous and in it, we see a very importance lesson that not only
is important for us, but also our children.
Alone On An Island In Defeat
Alone on an island. Shut off from the universe and the
force. He was determined to spend the remainder of his days in isolation. He
had failed. The hope of the galaxy had rested with him, and he had only made it
worse. He sought solitude to live out his days, but here she was, standing
before him. Calling him back to a former life, a time when he had hope, but now
that new hope was gone.
The Deepest Commitment - Something Our Children Must Have
“A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind.” –
Yoda
What are
you passionate about? What is the focus of your life and what drives you in the
direction and journey your life is leading you? These are all questions that we
must ask and answer as we determine that path that we will each take. We all
have something we are committed to, and that commitment and passion drives us
forward in the face of impossible odds, which is something most Jedi understood
better than others.
"That's Two You Owe Me."
Growing up, many of us were taught the Golden Rule – Do unto
others, as you would have them do unto you. In the Star Wars universe, this
lesson was important – especially if your Tauntaun does freeze to death.
